Who knows what the future may hold for Golden State Warriors big man Festus Ezeli. He’s been coined as the future starting center for the Warriors once Andrew Bogut’s contract expires but his past is littered with injury concerns.
Presently, he’s not talking about a contract extension with the Warriors and it is expected that Ezeli, along with teammate Harrison Barnes, will both hit restricted free agency next summer. The team made it official that they would not be re-signing Ezeli at this time.

Despite Ezeli not getting a new deal from the Warriors before the contract extension deadline, it appears that Ezeli is still optimistic of his re-signing with the Dubs. He says he wants to remain with the Warriors for the entirety of his career.

Keeping Ezeli might cost the Warriors a pretty penny, keeping Barnes and Ezeli might cost way too much for their blood but if the Warriors want to keep this successful team together and potentially build a dynasty, it might be a necessary evil for the Dubs to dip into the luxury tax.
