Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry did some amazing things last night to lead the Dubs to a historic game 3 overtime victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.
He dropped 40 and hit a fantastic shot to tie the game to send the contest into overtime.
The issue is, not only did Stephen Curry make the game-tying 3-pointer in Game 3 against the Pelicans last night, he did it while being fouled.
But Anthony Davis didn’t get called for a foul, and the Warriors had to win in overtime rather than sending Curry to the line in regulation to possibly ice it for the Dubs.
If you’re wondering why there was no call? You might have found your answer.
Following from Marcus Thompson of the Bay Area News Group.
According to a couple sources, the explanation the Warriors received was that Curry would’ve gotten the foul if he had missed the 3

Here’s a great angle of the play.
You can clearly see the ref having close to no reaction to the shot and Curry getting straight abused by the Pelicans defense.
Hopefully, this isn’t true because it’s just wrong. If you think it’s foul, call it irregardless of the shot. If not, don’t call it. It’s that simple. There should be no prerequisite behind making the right call.
The official 2-minute report hasn’t been released yet but it will be interesting to see if the NBA will determine that the play will be called a foul.
(Hint, hint, there’s no way it shouldn’t be called in Stephen Curry’s favor.)
