
Thunder star Kevin Durant scored 26 points, including a key mid-range jumper with 30.7 seconds left to cement an Oklahoma City Thunder comeback in their game 1 win over the Golden State Warriors. The 108-102 loss by the Dubs on their home floor in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals Monday night is their first playoff home loss in game 1 since 1992. This win comes just a few short days after the Thunder eliminated the San Antonio Spurs from the playoffs.
The Warriors had a 60-47 lead at halftime and at one point led by 14 points but a big Russell Westbroook second half was the driving force behind their comeback. A 14 point lead by the Warriors was the biggest blown lead by the team who suffered their third home loss of the season, first of the 2016 NBA Playoffs.
Russell Westbrook scored 24 of his 27 points in the second half for Oklahoma City and he also had 12 assists and seven steals. Steven Adams made a pair of free throws for the Thunder with 1:01 remaining to add on to his 16 points, 12 rebound night. Durant and Westbrook combined to shoot 17-51 with eight total turnovers but the team managed to pull out a win.
Unanimous NBA MVP Stephen Curry had 26 points and a playoff career-high 10 rebounds and he shot 9-22 on the night. Klay Thompson scored 25 points with 11-25 shooting and nine rebounds. Draymond Green scored 23 points on 9-20 shooting with five rebounds and four assists.
