Mark Jackson spent three years as the coach of the Golden State Warriors, took a non playoff team and turned them into a title contender. Obviously we all know how that relationship ended with Jackson getting replaced by Steve Kerr this summer.
The move to oust Jackson was questioned by most and while mostly everybody had a good idea what the process behind it was, Warriors owner Joe Lacob recently clarified his decision.
“Part of it was that he couldn’t get along with anybody else in the organization,” Lacob said. “And look, he did a great job, and I’ll always compliment him in many respects, but you can’t have 200 people in the organization not like you.”
Jackson was said to have created an “Us against the world mentality” in the Warriors locker room, however apparently the world included others in Warriors organization.
Whether or not one is a fan of the move, Golden State currently has the best record in the NBA at 15-2 and Steph Curry is looking like a front-runner for the MVP under first year head coach Steve Kerr.
