As the day goes on, more Golden State Warriors players are going to be missing out on the action against the Denver Nuggets.
This situation is a little different though, 4 regular Warriors players will be resting but for Warriors forward Marreese Speights, he has been suspended by the NBA for reckless driving.
Following is an official NBA press release.
Golden State Warriors’ center Marreese Speights has been suspended for one game without pay for pleading no contest to reckless driving, in violation of the law of the State of Florida, the NBA announced today.
Speights will be suspended for tonight’s game between the Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets.
Speights was charged with DUI over the summer, so he’s had a short leash with the NBA since. He also had an issue when a gun was pulled on him at the beginning of this year. This suspension is warranted based off his past issues with the law over the summer and hopefully it won’t damper any type of positive vibes the Warriors have in their locker room.
As of late, with the health of David Lee and Andrew Bogut improving Speights has been in and out of the Warriors rotation after a stellar start to the season.
Look for Lee and Festus Ezeli to play a big role tonight, especially with all the other Warriors out tonight.
