But the worries for Golden State might come when that re-evaluation happens on March 22nd. With the NBA playoffs less than one month away and the Warriors already battling a Stephen Curry ankle injury, the team fears Klay could miss an extended period of time.
Following comes from Marcus Thompson of The Athletic.
Klay Thompson’s injured right thumb might be more serious than initially thought, according to multiple sources.
There is a growing concern that Thompson’s injury, sustained in the Warriors’ loss at Minnesota on Sunday, could cost him some weeks for it to heal and that it’s not a day-to-day thing. The Warriors confirmed Wednesday the thumb is fractured and said he will be evaluated March 22.
Usually when a team loses two All-Stars, you could all but write that team off. Luckily for the Warriors, they have two more All-Stars in Kevin Durant and Draymond Green to help pick up the slack in the absence of their sharpshooting backcourt. Just don’t expect the three-point shooting numbers to be out of this world for the timebeing.
