If you’re the Golden State Warriors, I am sure you are feeling anger from other teams in the league. The best regular season team in NBA history signed one of the top 3 players in the league this summer in Kevin Durant, and that is obviously not going to make other team owners happy.
While Adam Silver, the NBA’s Commissioner, is a little bit mad about Durant signing with Golden State, Golden State’s CEO Joe Lacob is mainly feeling the heat from his fellow owners. What is Lacob’s response to these angry owners?
“I know there are a lot of other owners and teams that are mad at us, at me,” Lacob said Monday. “I felt that very much when I was in Las Vegas this summer.
“Sorry, we got him. We worked hard until we got him.”
Lacob is right in the fact that they got Durant. Other owners are rightfully mad, but they should be mad at themselves and not the Warriors. The Warriors fought hard to acquire Durant and congrats to them for that. Other owners should be mad at themselves for not working hard enough to acquire Durant, and a bit scared of the Warriors’ superteam.
