Warriors take 3-1 NBA Finals lead over Cavs
Warriors dynamic duo of the Splash Brothers got back to work just one game after they had their worst game as a tandem this season. In their game 3 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, not only did Thompson and Curry struggle but Draymond Green also had a tough time, playing far under his All-Star Level.
In game 4, the Warriors and Cavs exchanged a number of blows both literally and figuratively but one one team stood tall at the end of the night. The Warriors moved within one win of defending their title by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-97 in Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday night.
Stephen Curry found his long-range touch and scored 38 points, Klay Thompson added 25 and Harrison Barnes made four 3’s and added 14 points. Curry had scored just 48 total points in the first three games, but the two-time league MVP made seven 3-pointers and Thompson, his Splash Brother, drained four 3’s.
Kyrie Irving scored 34 points for the Cavs but he did make some big plays early on but he eventually froze late in the game. LeBron James added 25 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists, but the superstar forward also had seven turnovers and was too passive at times, except when it came to getting physical with the Warriors. Kevin Love returned to the lineup after missing Game 3 with a concussion and added 11 points coming off the bench.
Cleveland, which came in 8-0 at home in the playoffs, went 6:36 without a field goal in the fourth quarter, the kind of scoring drought no team can afford against the potent defending champion Warriors.
Towards the end of the game, LeBron James got into it with both Draymond Green and Stephen Curry but his altercation with the Warriors power forward garnered the most attention.
Game 5 will be played at Oracle Arena in Oakland on Monday at 9PM ET on ABC.
