The Golden State Warriors went into Game 4 knowing that they needed to win this game or else their championship hopes were very slim. Smaller than slim actually, statistically, it would have been an impossible thing to do. Coming back from 3-1 was something that Stephen Curry and cast did not want to do. LeBron James wasn’t going to make it easy for them.
In the first half, both teams got off to great offensive starts, but LeBron James did not get to his typical start in the Finals. It’s not that he struggled, but it’s that he played like regular season or first round Playoffs LeBron, not Finals LeBron. The second half was a game of runs. Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors got off to a great halftime start, which pushed their lead to 15 points. Once it hit 15 points, I knew it was game over. The Warriors are undefeated this season when they take a lead that is 15+. The game was over, because they have won over 60 games (including Playoffs). All that LeBron could do was being held back by that single statistic.
Stephen Curry added 22 points and Andre Iguodala who is the unsung hero and MVP for the Warriors added 22 points. LeBron James “struggled” with 20 points, 8 assists, and 12 rebounds. Mozgov had 28 points to lead all scorers. Despite the Cavaliers making their runs, the Warriors stuck strong. Warriors won 103-82. The main thing in the game? Matthew Dellavedova. He struggled and forced a lot of bad shots. He finished with 10 points off 3-14 shooting and 2-9 from 3-point land. Essentially, he tried being Kyrie Irving, it didn’t work. Delly needs to stick to the role he kept in Game 3, the guy who stops Stephen Curry and makes hustle plays. Now the Warriors head back to Oracle Arena with a tied series and a chance to take the series lead. Game 4 On Sunday.
