According to Birth. Movies. Death., Warner Bros. are doing the unthinkable. According to BMD’s “reliable sources” the studio heads have ordered “expensive reshoots” in hopes to lighten up the tone of the film. The shoots are in the multi-millions and will be bringing in more humor and “lightness”. If true, this can be bad. You’re probably saying to yourself, the trailers aren’t that dark, that there’s humor involved, but BMD’s sources claims that’s all the humor to the movie.
These reshoots can be due to the dark tone Zack Snyder’s Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice brought to the DCEU. Many critics claimed that there wasn’t much humor or bright spots in the film, but lets be real, aside from the witty sarcasm, how many jokes can you expect from The Dark Knight? Especially in a time of crisis?
Now, if you know anything about the Suicide Squad, there is absolutely nothing light or humorous about a squad of super villains sent to save the world, but if they disobey direct orders, their heads are blown off. Hopefully the only humor being added is coming from Harley Quinn and The Joker. Stay tuned for any updates on these reshoots and the next trailer for the Squad. Suicide Squad will be in theaters August 8th.
