Warner Bros. has reportedly delayed the release of Tenet starring John David Washington for a second time. The film was originally scheduled to be released on July 17, but was pushed back to July 31, 2020. More recently, the film was slated to hit theaters on August 12, 2020. Now, the film isn’t on the studio’s release calendar at all.
“We will share a new 2020 release date imminently for ‘Tenet,’ Christopher Nolan’s wholly original and mind-blowing feature,” Warner Bros. Chairman Toby Emmerich said.
“Our goals throughout this process have been to ensure the highest odds of success for our films while also being ready to support our theater partners with new content as soon as they could safely reopen,” Emmerich continued.
As of now, there is no new release date for the film. However, there are reports that it may be released overseas before it hits domestic theaters.
“We are not treating ‘Tenet’ like a traditional global day-and-date release, and our upcoming marketing and distribution plans will reflect that,” Emmerich noted.
Only time will tell when the Christopher Nolan led project will hit theaters digitally or in-person.
