The new faith-based drama War Room earned about $3.875 million on Friday night, barely topping the box-office beast Straight Outta Compton, which earned 3.83 million on Friday.
War Room, which has received mixed reviews, tells the tale of a couple who turns to prayer in an effort to work out their struggling marriage.
Although it topped Friday’s box office, Straight Outta Compton is still expected to top the box office for the entire weekend.
Only in its second week out, the film about rap group N.W.A., has already earned over $120 million domestically, making it one of the biggest releases of the summer!
