Since breaking ties with Atlantic Records in February, Washington, D.C. native, Wale, has been on a run. Wale has dropped singles such as “All-Star Break-up”, “The Weekend Remix” and “Staying Power”. In addition, Wale has released visuals for “Staying Power”, the It’s Complicated EP and made an appearance on the Rap Radar Podcast. Today, Wale continued his run with the release of his second EP in three months called Self Promotion.
The project was first announced when WWE Raw commentator, Corey Graves, announced the release of the EP on WWE Raw’s War. Graves mentioned, “Wale just dropped an album called Self Promotion or he’s about to later tonight, and its all about doing whats best for you.” Shortly after, Wale confirmed the project’s release by posting a video on Instagram in which he said, “The cat is out of the bag.”

The four-track project has one feature from DJ Money and is led by the previously released, “Negotiations”. Wale said in the EP’s trailer, “Sometimes I put my foot in my mouth I get it, but I feel sarcasm is our greatest weapon. We get whoever to do whatever just by saying whatever. Boys & girls ask yourself this question… What travels or captivates quicker … a compliment or an insult?”
