Wale is on fire! After severing ties with Atlantic Records earlier this year, Wale has been a man on a mission. In the first quarter, Wale has dropped his Self Promotion EP, It’s Complicated EP, visuals for “Staying Power”, an ode to Colin Kaepernick and a new deal with Warner Brothers. Today, the Washington, D.C. native turned up on Cardi B’s remake of the Juicy J track, “Bickenhead”.
Wale takes his time on this record with a lackadaisical intro that leads into the MMGC getting to his bag as he raps, “We’re never convinced/Our trust will conflict/We stepped in the name of love/We were Huxtable kids/Feel sorry for Claire though/But gotta be real though/Would love to believe it/But see me I got me a lil’ one/For shawty/I’ll probably rob or tie you or kill some.” Wale also fuses his inner comic book and sports knowledge when he raps, “Forever my man though, infinity ammo/They fingers on Kobe Bryant I’m tryin’ to be Thanos/So get all your friends though, one snap and your clan dust/hey fingers on Kobe Bryant I’m tryin’ to be Thanos.”
Wale’s freestyle is likely not his last release of the summer. As mentioned early, he dropped his Self Promotion EP earlier this month and with his new deal at Warner Brothers finalized, a new project could be on the way as well. For the time being, check out Wale’s “Bickenhead” freestyle.
