In Monday night’s 105-97 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, Nene threw down a monster reverse dunk on a fast break after a huge block by Marcin Gortat. The slam, which occurred with just under 8 minutes left in the third quarter, put the Wizards up by 25 points, and should have sparked the Wizards to continue to dominate the game. Portland was able to come back, but the Wizards were still able to seal the deal.
Nene has missed the previous two games, so his legs were fresh enough to get all the way up there. It was nice to see the Big Brazilian run the floor and get to the rim to be able to finish the slam for an easy two-point play.
Expect to see more highlight reel plays like this from Nene, as he always seems to heat up right before, and during playoffs. Nene should produce more of these top plays as the season comes to a close.
