There are some serious issues with the Washington Wizards and not at the right time. It seems like their head coach, Randy Wittman, has something to do with the amount of problems that’s going on in Washington.
Last night just brought the issues to the main stage for everyone to see.
In a tight contest between the Wizards, who were trying to snap a 3 game losing streak, and the Indiana Pacers, who are fighting for their playoff lives, the game came down to the wire. Pacers point guard George Hill got a go-ahead layup to go with 2.7 seconds remaining in the game. Wizards got the ball and their only chance was a desperate heave and it fell short.
The fact is that George Hill just didn’t get any regular layup to go, he might have gotten the easiest layup he saw in that game and it ended up being the game-winner. Go figure. Cue Wittman walking off the court early.
I can sympathize with coach Wittman’s struggles about his team and disappointments but that doesn’t mean you just walk off the court without the handshake and such. It’s a part of the game and just because you’re frustrated that the team YOU coach didn’t execute YOUR defensive scheme, doesn’t mean you just leave.
The issues in Washington are just piling up and for some reason, they all are centered around coach Wittman. Don’t be surprised if the Wizards are out early in the playoffs if coach Wittman is also out early.
