After a 106-93 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, the Wizards took time out of their schedules to help out at a special olympics basketball game in DC. The teams were composed of special olympians, and were coaches by some of the players on the Wizards.
John Wall, acting as the affair’s official, called a foul on one of the players on Marcin Gortat’s team, which resulted in some heated words from Gortat. The words were all play, but gave some good entertainment to those in attendance, and those of us who saw the act on social media. Maybe the interaction can make the relationship between Wall and Gortat a bit more playful, and help the chemistry issues on the team.
This interaction is certainly a bright spot for the Wizards after Gortat’s comments towards the team not giving him enough touches after the win vs Philly. At least we know Wall didn’t take the comments to harshly, and is embracing Gortat as he continues to grow into the city of DC. The chemistry issues on the Wizards may be ending just at the right time.
