Victor Oladipo has quietly emerged as one of the best young guards in the league. The Orlando Magic shooting guard has been a force both offensively and defensively in attempting to lead his team.
On Friday, Oladipo showcased that ability in a big way, scoring a career-high 45 points on an efficient 16-22 shooting night. The guard also added five rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks, showing a complete game to lead the team.
Unfortunately, Oldaipo’s efforts came just short with his Magic losing 109-103 to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Magic fell to 29-39 with little to no chance of making the playoffs. Still, performances like this from Oladipo show a bright future for a team filled with young, talented players.
While the Magic are a ways away from truly competing in the Eastern conference, they can rest their hats on having found a future franchise centerpiece in their shooting guard. Now it’s up to management to surround him with more talented players, which they have already done to some extent, in order to create a force in the near future.
For now, they can be content with performances like this from Victor Oladipo which show that the future is indeed bright in Orlando.
