Remember this name, Derrick Jones. The high school senior from Philadelphia will suit up for UNLV next year and is one of the most exciting athletes in the country.
He showed off that athleticism at the Mary Kline classic at West Orange High School in New Jersey this past weekend, dunking over four people. One of the four people was 7-footer Josh Sharma who will play for Stanford next season.
“I did it before so I just said I’m going to do it again,” Jones said. “I did a similar dunk at a contest that I won in Indiana.”
Jones went on to win co-MVP honors at the Senior Game Saturday night after scoring 36 points.
Jones is a four star recruit according to espn.com. The 6″6 shooting guard/small forward should be a key contributor for the Runnin’ Rebels from the moment he steps on campus.
