With the Cleveland Cavaliers coasting through the Eastern Conference thus far through the first two rounds of the 2017 NBA Playoffs, LeBron James and his crew have been the hottest team in the league.
One of the most evident driving forces behind the Cavs scorching hot play as of late has been their chemistry. The team is having fun playing with each other and they are not afraid to show it, celebrating often with elaborate handshakes, different for each player.
While head coach Tyronn Lue has to love the chemistry and fluidity he’s seeing from his team right now, he recently joked that he wished his players would remember their defensive schemes as well as they remembered their intricate handshakes, video courtesy of the Cavaliers:
While Tyronn Lue joked about his team’s celebrations, he has to be pleased with how well they’ve performed thus far this postseason behind LeBron’s historic play.
Their late season struggles seem to be far in the rearview and they look forward to the upcoming Eastern Conference Finals against either the Boston Celtics of Washington Wizards. Whether the Celtics or Wizards end up taking their series, both teams are going to have been worn down after playing extra games in the first two rounds while the Cavs will have been rested up.
Look for the intricate handshakes to continue as the Cavs figure to work their way to another NBA Finals in what would be the seventh straight appearance for James.
