“The Drew: No Excuse, Just Produce” chronicles the Drew League, the nation’s foremost pro-am basketball league, and its impact on South Central Los Angeles.
The Drew League is a mainstay of the Los Angeles basketball and a ‘right of passage’ for the world’s best basketball players out on the West Coast. Drew League standout and former NBA superstar, Baron Davis, has played a pivotal role in creating a documentary that gives viewers an inside look on the vast differences of both the good and the bad within the South Central hoops community.
The film features Davis, Metta World Peace, Indiana Pacers star Paul George, Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young, Toronto Raptors DeMar DeRozan, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant along with testimonials from Detroit Pistons Brandon Jennings, Portland Trail Blazers Dorell Wright, Houston Rockets Trevor Ariza, Los Angeles Clippers Matt Barnes and Los Angeles Lakers coach Byron Scott.
Make sure you check out the world premiere of “The Drew: No Excuse, Just Produce” at The Los Angeles Film Festival June 10-18.
Games start for this upcoming Drew season on May 16th.
