The Brooklyn Nets beat the Portland Trail Blazers 106 to 96 in the only NBA game on Monday night, but the Blazers really should have had only 95 points.
During the third quarter, Damian Lillard took a midrange jumper from around 18 feet out and was awarded three points for it. I mean come on refs, that wasn’t even a college three!
Calls like this really shouldn’t happen, especially given that the referee was standing nearby with a perfect view of Damian Lillard’s shot.
While calls like this are disappointing, it did not affect the Nets, as they soundly defeated the Blazers. Brooklyn has now won 7 of their last 8, and it’s looking like their late-season resurgence behind Brook Lopez will be enough to carry them into the postseason.
