A lot of players that still want to play basketball, but can’t compete at the same NBA level they used to, decide to play overseas, especially in China, where the money is good enough to play every game like an All-star game for former NBA players. It’s hilarious. Players who don’t get any minutes in the NBA go to China and averaged 30 point and 10 assists. Despite that being said, the NBA’s effect on China has been remarkable, completely creating a basketball environment. Tracy McGrady has been one of those players. After serving his best years as a Raptor, Magic and Rocket, he bounced around the league, and ending up in China. He then retired from China and basketball in general. Now the league he played in, will honour T-Mac.
According to HDXposure(Via Eye on Basketball) :
Tracy McGrady, Allen Iverson and Ron Artest are just a few big names that traveled to China to find even more basketball for them. Tracy McGrady retired from basketball 2 years ago and China retired his jersey. The NBA will remember T-Mac most for his impressive scoring outbursts, freakish athletic ability and the dunk contest of 2000 with Vince Carter. He truly left a legacy in the NBA, but was never able to win an NBA championship.
