Too often, it’s said Kelly Oubre Jr does not yet have the NBA body even though he already has a lot of talent and skill. He proved his critics wrong on this play when he took the ball straight to the rack and was able to draw the foul while finishing the play.

It is true that Oubre has to get bigger and stronger to compete in the league on a daily basis, but that doesn’t mean he should ride the bench all next season. Maybe it’s just Summer League, but the rookie has put this team on his back while doing everything asked of him to keep the team in games.
Once Oubre gets the “NBA body,” he’s going to be even tougher to stop than he already is. Maybe he has had a few issues finishing around bigger players, but in Tuesday’s Summer League win over Dallas, he acted just as big as the competition.
Washington’s play in the Vegas Summer League may be over, but for Oubre, the summer grind has just begun. To get ready for the regular season, he is going to have to put in even more work so he can be a solid contributor for this Wizards team.
