The NCAA tournament is all over so that means the ‘Inside The NBA’ crew is almost back in full. While Charles Barkley and Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith take some extended time off after the tourney, they have 2 former fantastic basketball stars take their place.
Ernie Johnson returns to his hosting duties, Shaquille O’Neal has stayed true to the NBA during the NCAA Tournament but Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas and potential future Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady join the cast to fill out the Inside the NBA starting 4 for ‘Inside The NBA’ on TNT.
The crew, as usual, does the highlights from the night. They talk about Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors holding down home-court, despite already locking up the number 1 overall seed, and defeating the Portland Trail Blazers. Curry had a fantastic game, dropping 45 and breaking his own NBA record for made 3’s in a season, all on the same night.
They discuss the NBA playoff scenarios for the eighth seeds in both the Eastern and Western playoff picture and Shaq wants one Blazers player to ‘man up’. The next highlight up was the first game of the night, between the Chicago Bulls taking on the Miami Heat in South Beach. A game that was a must win for both teams for playoff seeding, especially the Heat fighting for the eighth seed in the East, was very up and down.
Miami held a 19 point lead at the half but when it was all said and done, the Bulls fought back and defeated the Heat, 89-78. Miami is going to be fighting an uphill battle from here to make the playoffs.
Then, it was time for Rachel Nichols to talk to Paul George and discuss his road back. He talked about his horrific injury, how he was almost close to quitting during rehab and finally, his return back to the court.
The show wrapped up with 2 of the regular staples of ‘Inside The NBA’. ‘Shaqtin a Fool’ and ‘EJ’s Neato Stat of the Night’ featuring Tracy McGrady showing off his pitching chops and both are just thing you absolutely need to see for yourself.
