The Los Angeles Lakers came into their game with the Phoenix Suns without their ailing and aging superstar Kobe Bryant due to a reoccurring back issue he’s been having this season.
Without Bryant, the Lakers were forced to go deeper in their rotation. They started Metta World Peace in Bryant’s place and they also played reserve guard Marcelo Huertas more than expected.
In the second quarter, Suns point guard Brandon Knight was defended by Huertas and the Brazilian point guard stood no chance. Brandon Knight crossed Huertas and made him spin but by time he came back around, Knight was already throwing up a three-pointer.
Knight had a strong night for the Suns. He put up his first career triple-double when he dropped 30 points, handed out 15 assists and grabbed 10 rebounds.
