The 2015-16 Golden State Warriors are the fastest team in NBA history to get to 50 wins but in order to get to win 51 they had to go up against the Miami Heat on the road led by Dwyane Wade, Goran Dragic and an extra motivated Hassan Whiteside.
Before the two teams faced off, Whiteside and Warriors forward Draymond Green exchanged some subtle barbs but neither would be the biggest stars of the night. As expected, the ‘Splash Brothers’ stole the show.
Stephen Curry dropped 42 on the night, including some ridiculous three-pointers and one that tied the record for most consecutive games with a made three-point shot. The reigning NBA MVP scored his 42 on 14-29 shooting including 6-12 shooting from three-point range and a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line while he also grabbed seven rebounds and seven assists.
Klay Thompson scored 33 points on 13-25 shooting, including 4-8 from three-point land and he also had four steals with three rebounds. The Warriors secured win number 51 with a late fourth quarter comeback powered by Thompson and Curry.
