Philadelphia 76ers are expected to start a 6’6 rookie shooting guard out of Clemson. K.J. McDaniels. Now McDaniels may have one of the weirdest rookie contracts ever, he gave up additional dollars up front in his contract in order to guarantee he’d be a restricted free agent at the end of this season. With the way the Sixers are expected to finish, well i don’t blame him. Many people saw McDaniels as one of those guys who are just another name on the Sixers young roster but he’s showing to be a defensive force as well.
McDaniels is quietly made his way up the list of blocked shots in the preseason. He has 14 which is good for fourth in the league. He’s behind Andre Drummond, Pau Gasol and Samuel Dalembert but ahead of shot swatters like DeAndre Jordan and Anthony Davis.
