While many players will be moved over the next couple of days during the upcoming trade deadline line sometimes it’s good to see how hard it is for these players to change teams. Shane Victorino is one example of this as you could imagine how hard it is to take your family out of a city that you truly love.
The hero of the 2013 World Series broke down in tears in a recent press conference after learning about the news regarding a trade that sent his to the Angels. Watch Victorino’s heart wrenching good bye to the Fenway faithful.
In the press conference the flying Hawaiian went on to thank Owner John Henry, President Larry Luchino, Manager John Farrell, and GM Ben Cherington. This was no easy good bye for Shane as loved Red Sox nation and always played the game ‘Boston Strong’. Victorino will also be changing his walk up song ‘3 little birds’ in respect for Red Sox Nation. This may not be the last Red Sox fans see from Shane as there is always a possible chance at a reunion following this season as he is an impending free agent.
