Russell Westbrook is on another level. The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard did it again on Monday with yet another triple-double.
In a blow-out win over the Portland Trail Blazers, Westbrook scored 17 points (on an efficient 7-11 shooting) and added 16 assists and 10 rebounds to complete the triple-double. Westbrook’s 16 assists were more than half of the Thunder total and three more than the Blazers’ total.
Most importantly, Westbrook’s big night helped lead to Oklahoma City winning 128-94. With the Thunder having caught some criticism for multiple late-game blown leads and bad losses, a huge win over a potential first-round playoff opponent came at a great time.
The Thunder have Russell Westbrook, at least in part, to thank for that.
