It’s always an exciting time when the Oklahoma City Thunder host the Houston Rockets. They have been two teams in the Western Conference playoff picture for the better part of this decade since the Thunder shipped James Harden to the Rockets and started Houston’s path back to success.
Last year the Thunder underperformed largely due to injuries, this season, the Rockets are underperforming due to an apparent lack of effort but it’s still a must watch when the dynamic trio of James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant are all on the floor at the same time.
Westbrook led the way for the Thunder, abusing Rockets ‘defensive stopper’ Patrick Beverley as he posted his sixth triple-double of the season. In 37 minutes of action, Westbrook put up 26 points with 14 assists and 10 rebounds shooting 9-21 from the field and 7-10 from the free throw line.
While Westbrook decimated the Rockets backcourt, the big action came on the wings with stars Kevin Durant and James Harden battling it out. KD dropped 33 points on 11-18 shooting and he also grabbed 12 rebounds while James Harden also scored 33 on 8-22 shooting 15-17 from the free throw line while grabbing seven rebounds and handing out seven assists.
