Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook has his share of classic moments with the media. You can’t blame him though, usually some members of the media ask really dumb questions (as you’ll see below).
This one wasn’t all that far fetched though. He was simply asked, based off the scenario the Oklahoma City Thunder are in, if he would be rooting for the Spurs. Why was he asked that? Well, as the standings are right now, the New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder are tied for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference but New Orleans holds the head-to-head tie breaker over the Thunder. That big game-winner Anthony Davis made in February is even more important right now.
The question last night wasn’t that bad, but let’s take a look back in time to some of Russell Westbrook’s most memorable answers to some silly media questions.
This was his recent postgame reaction when he was asked about taking 43 shots in one game, which Kobe Bryant had no problem defending. Kind of a dumb question, you know how Russ is.
Way back earlier this season, Westbrook took a shot at one local reporter, telling him that he doesn’t like him during his classic ‘execution’ postgame interview, that Paul Pierce had no issue recreating. Russell probably wasn’t having the best day.
Don’t forget, when he was asked a dumb question a few years ago, he delivered us with the greatest ‘what?’ of all-time. Yea, another dumb question.
We should’ve seen this coming a long time ago though. Westbrook’s been owning reporters for years now, shutting down their stupid questions about things that have nothing to do with the current situation. Dumb question, wrong time to ask it.
Never change, Russell Westbrook.
