Rudy Gobert has become one of the best rim protectors in the NBA over the past two seasons. The Utah Jazz center is currently averaging 2.7 blocks per game. The French big-man has been the anchor of a mostly good Jazz defense since the second half of last season.
On Wednesday night, Gobert showcased his talent by stuffing Carmelo Anthony on a drive to the rim. The New York Knicks forward attempted to put down a two handed dunk but was unable to get above or around the Stifle Tower and paid the price early in the first quarter.
Melo was able to recover, however, and led his team with 30 points as they defeated Gobert’s Jazz in overtime, 118-111.
