The New Orleans Pelicans’ season has certainly not gone the way they wanted or expected. Coming off of a playoff season and heightened expectations, the Pelicans are sitting at 13-26, the fourth worst record in the Western Conference. The poor start has them looking at trades to improve their position.
Despite the poor record, the Pelicans still have a chance to right the ship, sitting only four games back of the eighth seed in the conference. On Friday night, they attempted to do just that on the back of their star power forward, Anthony Davis.
In a tight-knit contest against the Charlotte Hornets, the young star threw down an alley-oop dunk in the closing seconds of the game to get the victory for his squad. Davis grabbed the slick pass from Jrue Holiday before slamming it down emphatically. For the struggling Pelicans, it was a crucial win as they look to put some games together and salvage their season. That it came in such exciting fashion may give them another extra boost to make a run for the final playoff spot.
