Paul Pierce showed just why he earned the nickname “The Truth” in the Wizards 106-99 win over Toronto to give the Wizards a 3-0 lead with an opportunity to clinch the sweep in front of home fans on Sunday. This shot really secured the win for Washington, and eliminated any chance for a comeback from Toronto. The shot was the “dagger” to the game, and was the exact reason why Washington chose to sign Pierce once Trevor Ariza chose to leave for Houston.
Pierce finished the game with 18 points, 11 of which were scored in the fourth quarter, and grabbed 3 rebounds. He is continuing to dominate Toronto for the second year in a row, and is working as hard as he can to make sure he won’t have to go through customs again.
