Quick. Best 3 point shooters of all-time.
Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, Peja Stojakovic, maybe even Robert Horry, Derek Fisher or Drazen Petrovic. You might include new age guys like Kyle Korver, Stephen Curry, Wesley Matthews or even the man who had a ridiculous performance recently, Klay Thompson.
Now, you forget that there are only 4 men in the history of the NBA to make 2,000 career 3-pointers. A true testiment to both longevity and effectiveness. You got your Ray Allen and Reggie Miller but add Jason Terry and now add Paul Pierce to that list.
Yes, Paul Pierce. The ever-clutch, the always consistent and passionate Paul Pierce. When you try to list one thing Paul Pierce does better than anyone, you can’t find one specific thing. There isn’t one specific thing he does that’s better than anyone else.
That’s the beauty of it.
He’s not a guy who will finish first on any major NBA record list, but much like Shawn Marion, he’ll always be in the tops of every list.
Pierce isn’t a guy who you would say is a 3-point marksman. In fact you would probably pick 10 guys in today’s NBA and even in his prime back in the 2000’s over him as better shooters but the fact of it is, Pierce is a pretty good shooter from deep.
Pierce is a career 37.1 percent from 3 and, while he can drop a shot from anywhere in three point land and especially in crunch time, he’s sweet spot this season is from the top of the three point arc where he is shooting 59.3 percent.
A great accomplishment to a guy who’s an all-time great and a surefire first ballot Hall of Famer.
