Death tolls from shootings in the United States are constantly rising, at a rapid rate. The NBA is the latest organization to take a stand. A series of anti-gun violence videos will air on Christmas day during the NBA’s games. These videos feature several NBA players. So far, we have seen Stephen Curry, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, and Joakim Noah, but there could be more.
Here is the initial video, comprised of snippets of all of the other videos:
Here is the video starring Stephen Curry. Curry talks about what it’s like to see that somebody the same age as his daughter Riley has been killed.
Here is the video starring Chris Paul. Paul talks about how being a father has changed his viewpoint on gun violence. He also speaks about the tragic murder of his grandfather.
Here is the video starring Carmelo Anthony. Anthony speaks about how he has seen, and lived around gun violence, and how he realizes that he very easily could have been a victim.
Here is the video starring Joakim Noah. Noah talks about how to keep kids off the streets, and away from guns. Noah won the J. Walter Kennedy award last year for founding the Noah’s Arc Foundation(NAF) which helps support children who have been affected by violence.
Since these ads are timed to be played during the Christmas day NBA games, they’re ensured to reach millions of viewers.
