The man who was once traded for Kobe Bryant, came back to his old stomping grounds during the Los Angeles Lakers victory over the Golden State Warriors. Vlade Divac hit a huge shot that didn’t count for either team. Lakers legendary big man, Vlade Divac, drilled a half-court shot in between the third and fourth quarter to win $90,000 dollars! Divac said after the game he will be donating the money to charity.
18 years ago, at the 1996 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Hornets had the 13th pick in the draft. They came into the night looking to land a big man and found a trade partner with the Los Angeles Lakers, who were shopping Divac in order to open up cap space to pursue a big time free agent center by the name of Shaquille O’Neal. To acquire Divac, the Hornets selected a 17 year old teenage guard named, Kobe Bryant, with their first round pick and sent him to the Lakers.
The Rest is history.
On this day 18yrs ago the hornets told me right after they drafted me that they had no use for me and were going to trade me #thanku #lakers

Divac only had one little helpful hint about making those deep shots.
“First of all, you have to make sure the ball goes the right direction.” – Vlade on shooting half court shots.
