Derrick Rose had a quiet offseason and then out of nowhere, the media fire rained down on the former MVP. Rose had a sexual abuse scandal, then he took to media day and talked about a new contract he wants in 2017, he then reportedly had an issue with his teammate Jimmy Butler and finally to make everything even worse, he broke an orbital bone in his face that held him out of a majority of Chicago’s preseason games. It was time to get Rose on the court and get him away from all the distractions.
In the first game of the season for the Bulls when they hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers, Rose did what Rose does best. He looked like the D.Rose of old and he made a bunch of plays, drove to the basket and hit open shots. D.Rose played 32 minutes, dropped 18 points on 8-22 shooting from the field and also handed out five assists.
