It was the much-anticipated return of former MVP guard Derrick Rose to the Chicago Bulls last night when the Bulls visited the Orlando Magic. Rose was matched up with Magic guards Victor Oladipo and Elfrid Payton, so he would definitely get some quality opponents to prepare him for the Bulls playoff push.
While Rose was limited to only 20 minutes in his return, only scoring 9 points, Payton and Oldipo played 40 minutes each for the Magic. Payton finished 17 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists while Oladipo scored 23 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
Payton might have started the game with a huge play when he threw down a ferocious put back slam but it was Oladipo that sent the Magic fans home happy. Oladipo was matched up with Jimmy Butler and he had no fear against the tough defender, taking Butler right to the rim and getting his layup to go with 1.5 second remaining on the clock.
While many may believe the Bulls ‘don’t look good’ right now, in all actuality they finally have everyone back, healthy and ready to go for the playoffs. Let them take this week before the playoffs start and get everyone on the same page so they can be ready to possibly surprise a few people.
