It’s no secret that Drake has a relationship with the Toronto Raptors. The ‘Global Ambassador‘ for the team was an instrumental force behind the city of Toronto getting the All-Star game in 2016. Drake reps Toronto as much as he can and he shows it over and over again.
This video is the feature commercial for the new collaboration between the Toronto Raptors, Drake’s ‘OVO’ line and Mitchell and Ness for Spring 2015 clothing that just opened up for business through the ‘Real Sports’ website.
There have been teaser videos on Drake’s instagram but finally we see the full video. The commercial features Raptors guard Lou Williams shooting around in the ‘Air Canada Centre’ after hours while Drake’s ‘6 Man‘ from the “album” ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late‘ plays in the background. Interesting enough the song features Lou Williams and his Toronto story in the opening lyrics along with a reference to one of his favorite Kentucky Wildcats, DeMarcus Cousins and his famous temperament.
The video is done very well and shows a great mix of clips between a modern, HD 16 x 9 and standard old school looking clips. The video also has different sectioned off parts showing different images and videos involving OVO, the Raptors and even some of Lou Williams highlights from this season.
If you’re thinking this is all Drake is going to do with the Raptors, it’s too late, he’s definitely going to be around way more for the upcoming Raptors playoff games and in about a year when All-Star weekend activities happen north of the border.
