Carmelo Anthony may have needed a hug, anyway. In a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, the New York Knicks got just that from an unlikely person.
Despite the game being in New Orleans, Melo was greeted by a young fan. Late in the game, a small child ran on the court during a timeout to give a hug to Anthony.
Melo has had some struggles this season and his Knicks team has been nothing short of terrible since a surprisingly quick start saw them as a potential playoff contender. This hug from an unlikely fan may have been the best moment of their season.
Unfortunately for the Knicks, the hug did not propel Melo and the team to a win, with only about 50 seconds to use the motivation to come back. Instead, New York fell 99-91 but at least a young fan got to meet his idol for a brief second.
