LeBron James has been under a widely-viewed microscope over the past few weeks. Whether it was due to cryptic tweets or comments about making another super team, the Cleveland Cavaliers forward has put himself firmly in direct view of the media.
The best way to take away those distractions? Having a monster game. The King did just that on Saturday by posting a huge triple-double en route to a Cavs win against the New York Knicks. LeBron recorded 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in the victory and his efforts led to his team outscoring their opponent by 20 points while he was on the court.
LeBron has come under fire for his recent antics and recent bad losses from the Cavaliers have accentuated those issues. But he can now point to this performance (as well as many more) as proof that he is still all in on this team and the task at hand. James recently said his team was ready for a title run and while that is unlikely with the Warriors and Spurs waiting on the other side, performances like this from the Cavs’ best player are why they will always be a tough out.
