For whatever reason, over the years LeBron James has struggled against the Dallas Mavericks. Going into last night’s matchup with the Mavs, LeBron was 15-15 in his career against Dallas, including his epic finals collapse in 2011.
But last night was a breath of fresh air for ‘The King’ and his court. The Cavs were up late in the game against Dallas but eventually squandered a lead after Dallas hit some pretty lucky shots coming off long rebounds and near-steal attempts.
Eventually, it was LeBron James time. ‘The King’ took over and made three out of his six shot attempts in the fourth quarter and overtime but it was some highlight plays that stole the show.
Early in the game, LeBron paid tribute to Karl Malone with his own hand behind his head ‘Mainman’ dunk but he saved his best for last.
Late in the fourth quarter, LeBron drove right by Chandler Parsons and put down a big two-hand slam over Devin Harris and then in the overtime period, LeBron had a chance at an easy two points but he looked over his shoulder and hit Kyrie Irving for a three to ice the game against Dallas.
LeBron is now 16-15 all-time against Dallas.
