Kyle Lowry had one of the greatest games of his career, on Friday. The Toronto Raptors’ point guard had a career night in leading his squad against the Cleveland Cavaliers at home.
Lowry dropped a career-high 43 points in one of the most memorable performances he’s ever had. The guard also added 9 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals, impacting the game in multiple ways.
With shooting guard DeMar DeRozan hampered with flu-like symptoms, the Raptors needed all of that production from Lowry, who played nearly 43 minutes. The monster game paid off as the Raptors were able to pull out a close game against the Eastern conference leading Cavs.
While Lowry made huge plays all night, including a fourth quarter where his fingerprints could be seen everywhere, his biggest play came with only a few seconds remaining. Skinny Kyle Lowry was able to lose Cavs’ guard Matthew Dellavedova on a step-back jumper that became the eventual game-winner. It was the perfect cap to a memorable night for Lowry, as he simply willed his team to a victory.

With the win, the Raptors now sit at an impressive 38-18 record, three games behind the Cavs. While it is unlikely they reach Cleveland before the playoffs, it does inch them closer to give them a chance. The Raptors seem more and more like potential contenders even with the Cavs being the widely favored team to make the Finals.
