Kobe Bryant has some magical moments at Madison Square Garden. He scored his first career points at MSG, he became the quickest player to reach 20,000 points in his career, he score his last 50+ point game at MSG six years ago when he dropped 61 and he’s thrown down some tenacious dunks for the New York crowd.
Yesterday, the Garden filled with Lakers fans clamoring to see Kobe for potentially the final time in New York. Bryant took the floor to a roaring ovation and every time he went to the free throw line, chants of ‘MVP, MVP, MVP’ filled the Garden.
Kobe ended the day with 18 points on 6-19 shooting including 2-10 shooting from three point range but he did shoot 4-7 from the free throw line. Bryant also had three assists on the night in the Lakers loss.
And Kobe also dropped a little knowledge for everyone to enjoy, the Knicks aren’t running an triangle offense. He says it’s more like a square.
