It’s no secret the Washington Wizards are trying to stretch out their offense next season, so Kelly Oubre Jr. starting to hit NBA 3-pointers has to be a positive for the franchise. Washington’s first round pick is currently known as a little bit of a project, but he is already showing growth from his days at Kansas.
In the Wizards first summer league game against the Suns, Oubre hit his first ever three-pointer as an NBA player. It may not be as exciting as the first time he does so once the regular season starts, but it is still something the rookie needs to be proud of and remember.

Once the season comes, Oubre is going to have to do his best to knock down three-pointers at ever chance he gets. John Wall is going to find him if he is open, but he is going to have to hit shots to earn more time and even stay on the floor for long periods of time.
Otto Porter is the starting small forward in DC, but along with Jared Dudley, Oubre has to do his best when called upon in relief of Porter. His first game showed how hard he will work as a member of the Wizards, and why he was selected 15th overall.
