The Minnesota Timberwolves came into their Friday night matchup against the Utah Jazz with a daunting task ahead of young star big man Karl-Anthony Towns. He was matched up against rim protecting and interior defensive minded Jazz big men in Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors and his night was not going to be easy. KAT had other plans and decided to make that duo look silly.
Towns dropped a career-high 32 points on the night, shooting 13-17 from the field and also 5-5 from the free throw line while also grabbing 12 rebounds.
Towns, recently named as a participant for the 2016 BBVA Compass Rising Star Challenge, quickly made Jazz coach Quin Snyder take Gobert off Towns and switch to Favors but it didn’t matter. It was KAT’s night. While Utah came out with the win, Towns did it all for the Wolves, stretching the floor and hitting mid-range jumpers on Gobert while also playing some bully ball in the post against Favors and other Jazz big men.
Despite Towns having the best night of his young NBA career, he wasn’t satisfied with it. For some reason, he thought he ‘played like crap’. Love this kid, keep working KAT.
If you don't already love KAT's game & attitude, listen to him postgame after scoring a career-high 32 points. https://t.co/rflugSEeI3
