The young man in the above video, the one that goes by ‘Karl Towns’ is indeed the same Karl-Anthony Towns that went first overall in the 2015 NBA Draft.
But before Towns was a star at Kentucky or the top pick in the draft or even the double-double machine with the Minnesota Timberwolves that we’ve all come to love, he was a skinny kid attending St. Francis High School in Piscataway, New Jersey. As as a freshman, he got the opportunity of a lifetime.
Towns interviewed Kevin Durant while Durant played a game against the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center just about five years ago. Oddly enough, it looks like Towns and KD are at the same height and now, they both are in the same league together.
If you’re wondering, for that game in Philadelphia, Kevin Durant played very, very well. He played 43 minutes, scored 34 points and grabbed 16 rebounds on the night.
