Karl-Anthony Towns has cemented himself as the runaway rookie of the year winner. The Minnesota Timberwolves big-man has showcased his multi-lateral ability making him one of the best young prospects in recent memory.
Towns showed his ability once again on Friday with a monster game against the Houston Rockets. Despite a 116-111 loss, Towns made his impact known. The rookie led his team with 32 points on 13-22 shooting. Towns also added eleven rebounds, one assist, two steals, and a block, affecting the game in multiple ways.
KAT was unable to lead his team to a victory but this performance was indicative of a fantastic season. The former Kentucky Wildcat has had one of the best rookie seasons in memory and there is no doubt that he will be the rookie of the year.
The Wolves, meanwhile, continue to build on a strong, young core. Despite their 22-47 record, things are looking up for Minnesota as they will continue to build around Karl-Anthony Towns (and Andrew Wiggins, among others) to create a strong roster that will contend in the future. Their number one overall pick once again showed that he is worth building around with the strong showing in this game.
